§ Atelier · Milano

A room,
a window,
one red spool.

The studio occupies a single floor in a former textile building near Porta Venezia. No machines. No assembly line. One worktable, one chair, one chosen material at a time.

§ Method

Five movements,
from argument
to edition.

  1. I

    Argument

Each object begins as a written sentence. A material proposes, another refuses. The studio works only when the argument is real.

  2. II

    Glass

We commission beads from a fifth-generation furnace in Murano. Every bead is breathed by hand. No bead is repeated.

  3. III

    Thread

Linen, jute, raw cotton — milled in Northern Italy. We dye one spool of lacquer red per season. It is rationed like ink.

  4. IV

    Knot

Assembly is slow. A single piece holds between 40 and 600 knots, each tied by the same hand from start to finish.

  5. V

    Number

The object is signed, numbered, archived in the studio register, and released. After the edition closes, the form is retired.

Hand-blown in Murano. Pontil marks left visible — the signature of the breath that made them.

Raw textile and thread

Material 02 · Thread

Raw linen and cotton from a single mill in Biella. One spool of lacquer red per season — the studio's only colour.

§ Visit

By appointment only.

The atelier opens to collectors, curators and press on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Each visit is one hour, one guest, one cup of espresso. The current edition is shown in the hand.
